Well-humored

I think my blogging is much better when I have a set topic in mind (Baby is breech! Baby gear has taken over! etc). Kind of like when, in school, when you had to "freewrite" for, like, 5 minutes and just write down every thought that comes to mind. I never quite knew where to begin. But, because I'm in the blogging mood, here goes...

So I'd like my audience's opinion on this one... does anyone out there thinks it's odd that I talk to my belly. No? Well, how about this...I sometimes actually wait for a response (usually a well-timed kick) to let me know he's awake and listening. Case in point...last night I had Greg mute the TV so that we could do our nightly storytime, and I chit chatted and poked for a few minutes, which prompted Greg to ask what we were waiting for. So I informed him that the baby hadn't moved for a few minutes, and I wanted to make sure he was awake before we started reading. I mean, really, reading to a sleeping baby? How silly is that? Greg looked at me, and made a comment to the effect of, yeah, THAT would be the silly part.

I have realized that Greg has spent a vast majority of my pregnancy humoring me.

Oh well, he did bring these home for me on Monday, so I guess he hasn't completely given up on me yet.

We have our next appointment on Tuesday. This will be the last of the bi-weekly appointments, and will include an ultrasound for our viewing pleasure. We will discover whether Baby has decided to somersault since our last ultrasound, and hopefully get some cool pictures. I love seeing ultrasound pictures where baby shows a resemblance to mom or dad, I think it would be amazing if we could see a resemblance of Baby to either of us in this last set of pictures.

I've been asked a lot about food aversions/cravings, and I didn't think I've had many until tonight, when I realized that I have eaten eggs four days out of the past five. Greg and I have gotten into the "breakfast for dinner" habit a lot, like, 2-3 days a week. This is very new to us, and slightly odd because neither one of us really likes breakfast foods even, for, well, breakfast.

And if I haven't been random enough so far, I just want to point out that I love the green iron-y thing in the above picture. I staged the picture like I did to get a corner of it in the shot. Odd, I know.

After reading this post, Greg thinks I should invest in a journal and spare you all.

So to recap: I like to converse with my belly button, I like ultrasounds, and I think I need to invest in some Egg Beaters.

Anything random you'd like to share?

I think it's great you talk to the baby! Case in point, my man always gets home late from work 12:30 a.m. or later sometimes and he comes in to kiss me and tell me he is home. Sometimes to share something from work, if he is excited and can't wait. Evan is 5 now but Marv and I will never forget how Evan woke up each and every night around 12:30, especially when he heard Marvs voice. He would kick and squirm like mad! It was so exciting, especially for daddy, to know how excited he was when daddy got home.
