I just love the food analogies associated with each week of pregnancy. Last week Baby Smith was compared to an ear of corn, this week he's being compared to everyone's favorite root vegetable, the rutabaga. Though, honestly, a rutabaga is a rather fair comparison to my life at 25 weeks pregnant-not very exciting and fairly drama free. Not a bad way to be, just not great if I ever wanted to publish a book called "Tales From the Second Trimester." Right now it's less of a book, more of a short article than anything else. But again, not really complaining.
Anyway, our little man is about 13.5 inches long and 1.5 pounds. He's beginning to gain a bit of baby fat to fill out a bit, and his wrinkled skin is beginning to smooth out. He's apparently beginning to look more and more like a newborn every day!
Greg and I went last week to begin our registry at Babies R Us. Nothing is on it, mind you, we just kind of walked around in a daze for about an hour with plans to return at a later date, or maybe just do most of our registering online--seems a bit less overwhelming that way! We did have fun test driving strollers and getting nursery ideas though. We will definitely have a busy (but fun) next few months as we try to get everything ready! Spring will be here before we know it!

2 people say...:
An "uneventful" pregnancy sounds very boring, doesn't it?
A rutabaga huh? Maybe we should be calling him "Rutty"! or RuttyTutty!
I love knowing the size and weight of your little guy. Where are you getting your veggie list from?
Thanks for visiting my website and entering my giveaway. And congrats on your fast growing and healthy little rutabaga! Harvest time will indeed be here before you know it!
