So what I really want to blog about today is a sewing project I spent 2.5 hours working on last night, but isn't complete yet. Hopefully it will be finished tonight and I can have one of my two favorite little girls model it in Harrisonburg this weekend. So moving on...
I guess since this is supposedly a pregnancy blog, and NOT a craft blog, I should post about something pregnancy related:) I am in Week 14 currently, 14 weeks and 3 days, to be exact. Or, not so exact; I was not tracking my cycle or ovulation when we got pregnant, so all we really have to go by is the age of the fetus at our first ultrasound. I'm convinced that our baby is on the small side and I am really, say, 16 weeks pregnant. I guess we'll see come Spring!
Each week I enjoy reading up on where the baby is development-wise, and I also like looking at pictures of fetus' at that particular age and imagining that that is what our baby looks like. I tried finding one to post here, but everything I saw was either very simple and non-descript, or real ultrasound pictures from various women, which is a little creepy to look at, much less post.
From what I gather, our baby has added a host of skills to his resume this week. He can now squint, pee, frown, grimace, suck his thumb, and grasp. He's the size of a lemon (approx. 3.5 inches in length), and even has fingerprints!
An odd symptom, that may not have anything at all to do with the pregnancy, is that I have been feeling a "popping" sensation in my upper abdomen since yesterday morning. I've googled it, yet haven't reached a definitive conclusion as to the source. A lot of people attribute it to the baby moving, but at 14.5 weeks or so, it seems a bit early for that. And it's not the "fluttering" sensation that most people describe. I'm not worried about it, more curious than anything. Other than that, and a bit of tiredness, I can honestly say I've been pretty symptom-free. Oh, and I also think that I am sleeping much lighter than usual-for the past week or so I have been waking up when Greg has been coming to bed. It's rather annoying.
I also have significantly limited wardrobe choices now that the weather is turning cooler. Skirts and dresses fit fine; pants and capris have been a bit tight for a couple of weeks now. I do have one pair of pants I bought a size up from normal, but now that the weather is going to be a bit cooler from tomorrow on, I may need another option:) For some reason, I have no desire to shop for maternity clothes. I realize that maternity clothes can be stylish and cute, and are available at the same places I normally shop, I just think I'd be just as happy in stretchy pajama bottoms for the next 6 months. Not quite sure how work would like that one.

2 people say...:
I only have a second so I'm only going to comment on the wardrobe part for now...Old Navy maternity yoga pants!!!!!!! you can dress them up or down and they are the most comfortable things you will ever put on. I don't know if they're in stores or only online, I got mine online, and they're $19.50. Go get them now! You'll thank me later ;)
Brilliant! I LOVE that idea...I'll have to go to their website now and look into them!
You realize that this post was partly for you, right? I want you to be prepared for when I show up at your party Saturday night in my PJ's! Your friends probably all know me as that "weird Richmond friend" anyway, so they won't be bothered:)
