I've been meaning to blog these pictures for a while now, but just haven't had a chance! A few weeks ago, Nancy and I made these darling pillowcase dresses for my April's two girls. We adapted the pattern from this tutorial on this awesome site. She has some great ideas...but, be warned, only click on the link if you have a lot of time to waste:) Nancy also made darling hats with the leftover fabric. I will admit freely, though, these dresses were not easy to pack up and send away--I spent the better part of my weekend on them and definitely got attached!! Good thing they were going to such a good home! I honestly took about a dozen pictures before shipping them off...it took some restraint to only post two.
The hardest part, in all honesty, was finding cute, patterned pillowcases that were sold individually. Everything I liked seemed to be sold in complete sheet sets only, which I didn't need. Eventually I made my way to Pottery Barn Kids, saw some adorable patterns, but knew that spending $14 on a pillowcase was not an option. I ended up at Macy's and got a great deal on some clearance Martha Stewart pillowcases. Hmmm...I know that Martha keeps a blog of her own, I wonder if she'll want to post my handiwork??:)

Thanks you so much for not writing, "I've asked April to send me pictures of the girls wearing them but she refuses to do so. I won't be sending things to her again in the near future." What a pain in the butt I am! It is like when you need to do laundry but you put it off till you have no clean underwear left. I mean, is it really that hard? Well, maybe a video of me trying to keep the bows tied on Tessa's dress would explain why...she's such a pain to get dressed and I swear she knows how to untie double knots! She has one untied before I can even get close to getting the next side done! I'm sure you can picture it in your mind! Thanks you so much for them! They are precious!
The dresses are adorable! I think that between April's two girls and mine you could have a part time job making clothes. I could see what it would be so hard to send them away.
